Why We're Drinking It:

From two of the Okanagan Valley's smaller specialty wineries this gift pack proves the region's mettle with Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc. The first a fruit-forward, softly oaked wine with layers of apple and vanilla flavors, the second a mouth-coating, silky red packed with berries and spice.

Includes:

2012 Nk'Mip Winemaker's Chardonnay
2010 Church and State Cabernet Franc
+ Free gift packaging

Tasting Notes:

Church and State Cab Franc:  Medium dark in colour, the nose is a mixture of blackberry, cranberry and cherry complexed with delicate notes of sweet vanilla and baking spice. On the palate, the wine is full, rich and expansive, with a silky mouth-coating texture and flavours of ripe dark fruits, cassis, cedar and cigar box with tremendous length. Will cellar well through 2017.

Nk'Mip Chardonnay:  Our 2012 Chardonnay is rich in stone fruit, vanilla and melon notes. With 60% of the wine kept in stainless steel tanks and 40% oaked in French barrels for 10 months, this Chardonnay contains flavours both crisp and subtle. This enjoyably soft and full wine shows a bright, fruit-forward flavour with a smooth finish.

The Story to Know:

The name Church & State symbolizes a balance between the many elements involved in creating the highest quality wine we can produce.

This concept of balance permeates everything we do, a balance between the head and the heart, between change and tradition. We find balance in the climate of this region, in the growing of our grapes, the aging of our wines in French oak barrels in our cellar and in the premium vintages we produce.

Nk'Mip is a lakeside property located on 1,200 acres of band land located in the town of Osoyoos. This southern Okanagan area is home to Canada's only pocket desert. With some of the most spectacular views in the Okanagan, this region is well known for its long, hot summer days and cool nights, mild winters and minimum rainfall. All of these factors contribute to this fabulous grape-growing region.
